Thanks for the post. I was doing some research on some of these variables that you are setting. According to this post (http://www.mysqlperformanceblog.com/2006/06/08/mysql-server-variables-sql-layer-or-storage-engine-specific/)
, it seems that bulk_insert_buffer_size is only relevant to MyISAM tables.

Also, I noticed that the MySQL site lists typical sizes for innodb_additional_mem_pool_size and innodb_log_buffer_size as about 8M. Did you try this ? It is quite a bit smaller than your setting of 256M. Just curious if you noticed a difference.
